What to put in a man's backpack?
It's no secret that men are always carrying a ton of stuff when they go out.
Too many men still use their pockets instead to carry practically everything, from phones to wallets, and could make life a lot easier by opting for a men's bag tailored to their needs.
Why choose a bag for men?
If you've ever been out on the town, you know that a man can carry his whole life in his pockets. Over time, however, your pockets can become a veritable catch-all.
And there's nothing worse than having to rummage through all your belongings to find the object you need at that very moment.
What's more, when a man sits down, it can damage items such as wallets. What's more, the uneven level created by items in the back pocket is uncomfortable when seated.
What should go in a satchel?
Here are the items that should be in every modern man's satchel:- USB cable, additional charger to power your phone.
- Cell phone- Wallet, purse- Your set of keys- Comb.
- Hand sanitizer.- Pack of tissues.
- A mini umbrella in case you get caught in the rain.
- Something to freshen your breath - chewing gum is always useful.
- A pen
- A diary to record work notes or important thoughts throughout the day.
Putting your wallet in a man's satchel
The wallet is the obvious object that most men are familiar with. Your wallet can hold a lot of important things, like your credit cards or your identity card.
The problem is that it can quickly take up too much space in our lives and bulge our pockets, discomfort and lack of style guaranteed.
Putting your wallet in your pannier will keep it safe and out of the way.
Depending on the model, you may even be able to do without your wallet altogether, with card slot pockets and various internal pockets to organize all your personal belongings.
Putting your cell phone and charger in a bag
Your cell phone will always be essential for contacting friends and family, sending e-mails, taking photos and surfing the Internet.
Keep it close to you, safe in your bag. Take your charger with you to avoid running out of battery. It's very difficult to carry your charger properly in your pocket. It's very uncomfortable and will end up damaging your charger.
Put tissues in a men's shoulder bag
Whether it's helping someone apply pressure to a cut or getting out of the embarrassment of a runny nose, carrying tissues is not only a smart choice, it's also a sign of maturity. The usefulness of these two items far outweighs the space they take up in your bag.We generally advise you to religiously carry the tiny bottles of hand sanitizer in your bag. Useful in these complicated health times.Although hand washing is the proper way to stay healthy, good old soap and water are frequently not there when you need them (imagine, when you receive an unexpected hug from a runny-nosed preschooler in the playground).
Put a deodorant in your man's bag
Speaking of cleanliness, there's also the matter of smelling good, and one very effective option is to always keep a deodorant stick handy.
These easy-to-carry sticks can easily fit into a small space, and will be at your disposal when cooling down is almost useless in an overcrowded subway.
However, don't expect women to surround you like in those extravagant ads. Why not be sensible?
If you need to put your best face forward, this is a great opportunity to start assembling a decent toiletry bag for everyday use.
Put a small umbrella in a shoulder bag
Cope with unexpected bad weather by keeping your umbrella close at hand.
You'll be able to access your accessory in no time to protect yourself and your outfit from the damp. You'll also avoid ruining your haircut (it's happened to me countless times in the past).
What to pack in a men's travel bag?
Before I started traveling, I kept my belongings in my pockets. Wallet, cell phone and keys were the only things I really needed to carry.
Occasional trips and light displacements brought the laptop into the picture. So I bought a nice leather laptop bag with a shoulder strap.
Now that I'm traveling full-time, the bag has had to evolve into a laptop bag with more pockets. My wife calls it my "man bag". I call it my "essential travel bag".
Here's a list of what you should pack in your man bag, based on my personal experience:
- Keys
- Parking ticket (so I know where I left my car at the airport)
- A good book to keep you company during downtime
- iPod and travel charger- Smartphone
- Phone charger
- Mini umbrella
- Pack of tissues
- Bluetooth headset
- Spare cables
- Ethernet cable
- Travel alarm clock
- Laptop with charger
- Travel toothbrush/pastille
- Disposable razor
- Spare deodorant
- Spare shirt, socks and underwear (you'd be surprised how often I needed them)
- Several USB sticks with essential files
- Travel wallet with checkbook, emergency credit cards and cash
- International phone card
- Passport
- Bottled water
- Sunglasses
Everything else is "superfluous" in my eyes.I hope this article has helped you visualize what you can take with you in your satchel and how useful it can be on a daily basis.
